NZRHA NATIONAL SHOW
The NZRHA National show is the highlight show of the season for New Zealand Reiners.
Our members have been working hard throughout the season to compete for 20 different National Titles. These classes range from Green Rider (beginner Reiners) through to our more seasoned Open Riders.
Our National Show is an important time of year for our upcoming young horses who are competing for the Futurity title in either Open Futurity or the Non-Pro Futurity sections. During the National Show - we host showcase events; ‘Run For A Thousand’ and the ‘Inter-Island Challenge’. Both events are a crowd favourite. Be sure to check out their event pages for more details on how you can be apart of these show case events.
This is the show of the season to attend! We look forward to seeing you in the sand pit!
Judge: Steven Whithers (AUS)
Steve and his wife Robyn, reside on their property "Bluff River Ranch" just outside Tenterfield in the north east of NSW, Australia, where they run Reining Horses and a Texas Longhorn Stud.
Steve has been showing reining horses since 1992 as a Non Pro, all over the eastern coast of Australia for numerous wins and high point trophies.
Steve is well known in Australia, with his long term commitment to Reining Australia when he was a past President and Vice President. In doing so Steve organised the first reining Australia display at the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000. Currently, Steve is a Reining Australia Life Member and Chairman of Reining Australia judges Executive Committee.
Steve has been a Reining Australia judge since 2015, having judged numerous shows all over Australia including the Reining Australia Nationals and Equitana Melbourne Reining Masters.

Egmont Showgrounds provides facilities for a range of sports in Hawera.
Our National show is held inside the TSB Indoor Arena (65m x 35m). With covered yards available for horses and shower / toilet facilities within a short distance from the float parking.
Run For A Thousand
Run For A Thousand (RFAT) is New Zealand's biggest reining prize pool competition. Winner takes home a limited edition trophy buckle, $1000 cheque and limited edition jacket.
Inter-Island Challenge
Northern Reiners Vs. Southern Reiners Challenge... A team of 3-4 riders from each island compete against each other.
