Futurity News & Equidays Open 2011

NZRHA Futurity Show 2012

This year the NZRHA held its first ever show on the 25th February 2012, at Showfields Equestrian Centre in Hampton Downs. The judge was NRHA International judge Mr Robert Lawson from Australia.

The Futurity & Open buckles were sponsored by NZRHA and made by Rick Meredith Custom Saddler (Australia), all but $100 of the Open purse was sponsored by the NZRHA.

Please take note of our sponsors who are featured on the front page of our website, we truly appreciate their generosity and encourage competitors and members to support and acknowledge them.

For those who have asked, and for any others wondering why the scoring is so low. The reason for this is that competitors were judged by an international NRHA judge on strict international standards. Because of this competitors now have an indication of how their runs at the show would stack up on an international level, rather than on a NZ level.
If competitors had been judged by an AQHA or NZ judge as we usually are in our Reining in NZ at western shows, you could make a vague comparison with how you might usually be scored by adding approx 5 points to each score from our Futurity show (except the 0 scores of course).
We hope this clears up any concern.
